Joel Salatin and his family own and operate Polyface Farm, arguably the nation's most famous farm since it was profiled in Michael Pollan's New York Times bestseller, The Omnivore's Dilemma and two subsequent documentaries, Food, Inc., and Fresh. An accomplished author and public speaker, Salatin has authored seven books. Recognition for his ecological and local-based farming advocacy includes an honorary doctorate, the Heinz Award, and many leadership awards.

Joel Salatin will lead an intensive, multi-day retreat at Seven Springs Mountain Resort on November 10th-13th as part of the Mother Earth News Institute.
Our mission is to address the three Ps of family agri-business: pennies, plans and people. The schedule, which spans three days, will cover topics such as the shared risk of entrepreneurship, personal synchronicity, intergenerational succession as well as financial management, farmstead design, mobility, logistics and marketing principles.
Joel Salatin will be at Stockman Grass Farmer's Graziers Pastured Pork Production School from November 30th - December 2nd in Jackson, Mississippi, where he will be offering a course with Allan Nation on raising pigs and pasture-based pork production. This course is open to 26 participants; tuition is set at $875 and does not include lodging or meals.
Joel Salatin will keynote at the 6th Annual Soil and Nutrition Conference This year's event will run from December 4-6 at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge. This event is hosted by Bionutrient Food Association in partnership with Kripalu.
