Author Opens Educational Center for Renewable Energy and Green Building
If you live in the Missouri area and are eager to learn about green building and renewable energy, I’ve got good news.
Chelsea Green author Dan Chiras has opened The Evergreen Institute, headquartered in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and the Center for Renewable Energy in Gerald Missouri to teach people about residential green construction and retrofitting, photovoltaic electricity, and wind power. The first workshops will be held at the Center for Renewable Energy in MO and are coming up in April.
Dan Chiras, who has published several popular books through Chelsea Green, recently announced the opening of a new educational center in east-central Missouri. The Evergreen Institute offers hands-on instruction in solar electricity, wind energy, passive solar design, residential energy efficiency, green building, and natural building.
The courses are taught primarily by internationally renowned author and educator Dan Chiras, whose books include The Natural House, The Solar House, The New Ecological Home, and The Homeowner’s Guide to Renewable Energy.
Workshops are offered through The Evergreen Institute’s Center for Renewable Energy and Green Building in Gerald, Missouri, an hour and a half west of St. Louis. The Center was founded by Dan in 2008. The first three course offerings are Home Energy Efficiency, Basic PVs, and Intro to Wind on April 18, 19, and 20, 2009.
The Evergreen Institute also offers Certificate Programs in Residential Green Building and Residential Renewable Energy for individuals interested in pursuing a career in green building and/or renewable energy or individuals interested in furthering their professional credentials in these burgeoning fields.
