By all means, let’s move forward. But you can’t move forward by sweeping the crimes of the past under the rug, whistling a jaunty little tune, and skipping away. First, the criminals must be brought to justice—then, and only then, can we as a country move forward. Because if we don’t hold everyone to the same standard of accountability, what are we?
