Firewood is back in style, as the [1] cost of heating with oil, propane, and natural gas has been rising for several years. But heating with wood isn’t just about the heat. Wood becomes a part of your life in a way that oil never can be, and, for the most part, that’s a good thing. It can sometimes feel like drudgery when you do it, but stacking wood also has its benefits—not least of which is the chance to engage in a little creativity. For example, this most ingenious firewood “cabin” that I saw in the yard of a neighbor of mine, pictured above.
