The Chelsea Green Guide Contest Results Are In!

Thank you to everybody who submitted entries for our contest. We received a great number of wonderful proposals. We’ve chosen two. And now we are delighted to name the winners of our Green Guide contest.

Congratulations to:

Amy Kolb Noyes for The Green Guide to Nontoxic Housecleaning
and
Elise McDonough for The Green Guide to Food: How to Buy Right & Spend Less

Amy and Elise have each been offered book contracts with a $1,000 advance for their winning Green Guide proposals.

The Green Guide series is a collection of big ideas in small packages. Current guides convey the basics of what you need to know to get started composting, biking to work, greening your office, lowering your energy footprint, recycling to the max, and conserving water. Green Guides to food and nontoxic cleaning will be great additions to the series.

We’d like to thank everyone who submitted proposals for this contest. Our winners were strong candidates in a strong field and, as we were judging the entries, it was a pleasure to discover a number of good writers with good ideas – even if their proposals didn’t fit into the series. Thanks again to all the contestants.
