Hearts Go A-Twitter for Blog Heavy Hitter

In country songs, you’re nobody unless somebody loves you. In the digital age, you’re nobody unless somebody tweets you. Yes, Twitter. Some say it’s the bane of their existence (ehem, there are wars going on, people) and some swear by it. In fact, according to Jesse McDougall, author of Start Your Own Blogging Business and expert on blogging and social networking, Twitter (or “micro-blogging” as he prefers to call it) is fast becoming a leading way to grow your business by getting the word out, and developing social networks.

This month, McDougall spoke at the Vermont Locavore Tweetup, an event at Round Barn Farm in Waitsfield, VT. All the local heavytwitters were there; NPR was on the guest list, but Oprah—she has over a million Twitter followers, naturally—was a no show. I use Oprah here as a legitimizing force; if she Tweets, you can bet it’s good for the book business. Not that I needed proof; Jesse McDougall is Chelsea Green’s Web Editor, and is trailblazing chelseagreen.com, what is now being called one of the Top Green Blogs, and all of digital publishing in general. Watch this video, and Tweet it to your crowd. The wave of the future is swelling…
