For most of the country, passenger rail travel is not exactly a pleasant experience. The trains are often strewn with litter, they’re not what anyone would call “fast,” and the ride is kind of rough.
President Obama set $13 billion of stimulus money to try to get us on track, if you will, toward a national high-speed rail system that could compete with, say, Japan. But will that be enough?
James McCommons, author of the forthcoming Waiting on a Train: The Embattled Future of Passenger Rail Service, answered these questions and others in this interview with the Fox Business channel.
