Robert Kuttner—co-founder of The American Prospect and author of the prescient New York Times bestseller Obama’s Challenge: America’s Economic Crisis and the Power of a Transformative Presidency—says, “I think [Treasury Secretary Timothy] Geithner is probably gone within sixty days, because he has become a liability to the administration,” in this clip from Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman. And if Robert Kuttner says it, I believe it. After all, he’s one of the few who saw the economic crisis coming, and who predicted the size and shape of the government’s intervention.
There’s no real substantive difference between the Paulson plan and the Geithner plan, says Kuttner. So let’s throw the bums out. (Yeah, I’m looking at you, too, Lawrence Summers.)
