Eric Toensmeier has created the kind of magical garden that is best suited to be the subject of childrens’ storybooks: Abundance of food, automatic regrowth every year, singing goldfish, and bananas in Massachusetts! Okay, so the goldfish don’t sing. But you get the idea.
Eric is the author of Perennial Vegetables: From Artichokes to Zuiki Taro, A Gardener’s Guide to Over 100 Delicious, Easy-to-Grow Edibles. He’s transformed the front and back yards outside his home in Holyoke, Massachusetts from empty dirt lots into abundant sources of healthy, organic food.
In this video, Eric takes us on a tour of his garden while recommending delicious crops, methods for natural pest control, and tips for growing in cold climates. This is part 1 of 4.
