Diane Wilson is still in prison and incommunicado, though we hear from her friend Kinnu that Diane is receiving mail just fine–so thanks for all your support. Diane is riled up about the substandard prison conditions in Texas, and is ready to be a vocal prison rights activist upon her release.

Today I heard from Diane’s friends at the Go Wild campaign for wild fish. Disappointed that Diane won’t be able to join them, the fishermen will be heading down to the gulf coast soon to collect truckloads of shrimp, which they’ll give away for free in Washington, DC, to dispel rumors that the brutal hurricanes this fall left the coast shrimpless.

Anne Mosness, a close friend of Diane’s, explained that the rumors are not necessarily innocent. Fishing communities are some of the last shoreline habitat watchdogs, and corporations would feel just fine about doing away with the last of them. So they spread rumors of an ailing shrimp industry, inedible shrimp, etc., and promote farmed fish. Enter the Go Wild campaign and their truckloads of free shrimp. If DC wasn’t so far away, I’d be tempted to go pick some up for myself…
