I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas....not the most bicycle friendly of cities. I cycle 38 miles to get from my apt to work and back whenever possible. This article is right on, my punctuality, performance and general outlook on life have improved...also I've lost around 32 lbs.

I'm Dutch, so I'm used to view cycling as a normal way of transport. I would urge all Americans to consider using bikes as much as possible!

[...] This can only mean one thing: bikes are hot. And if businesses are running their operations on two wheels, you can too. Even fair-weather cyclists no longer have an excuse, it’s finally spring! So pump up your wheels and take your classy ride out for a spin. Need help?
Great article! Lots of good information in here that I can use! I work for Group Health Credit Union, and we're currently assembling a team for Bike to Work Month, which is in May here in WA State. I bow to your 12-miles-each-way commute: I do 4 miles each way, in much less aggressive weather conditions, and with plenty of rain-spattered grumbling. Best of luck to you at getting and keeping your colleagues and others motivated. Thanks for the article!

jsmcdougall -- this is your sufficiently motivated co-worker speaking -- cut yourself a little break -- it IS snowing here in VT as we speak. don't we get a pass until the temps rise above 32F?????

And, BY THE WAY, it is SUPPOSED to be sunny and in the 50s this Friday. That's two days from now. So our feet are now publicly to the fire. Let's ride.
