L.A.’s Daily Breeze gives the Koss brothers’ business how-to/how-not-to memoir The Earth’s Best Story: A Bittersweet Tale of Twin Brothers Who Sparked an Organic Revolution a read and plucks out their top ten lessons for turning your business dreams into a business reality.

From DailyBreeze.com:

Friends laughed when twin brothers Ron and Arnie Koss announced they wanted to start an organic baby food company. The brothers had no money, no business degree, and no relevant experience.

So what happened? They did it anyway and succeeded in launching Earth’s Best Baby Food, the first nationally distributed organic food to sit next to its mainstream competitors on supermarket shelves.

It hasn’t always been easy, the brothers admit in their recently published book, “The Earth’s Best Story: A Bittersweet Tale of Twin Brothers Who Sparked an Organic Revolution.” But they’ve never regretted it.

Here are their tips for turning your business dream into a reality:

Engage in brutally honest self-assessment. Consider the merits and timeliness of your idea and look introspectively at your motivation, goals and commitment to the venture.

Avoid avoidance. Embrace red flags, inner voices, twitches, and butterflies that surface as opportunities to “morph” now so as to succeed later.
