Throughout my short, humble career as a “green” blogger, I’ve struggled to find something—a news site, a product, a blog—that combines the two greatest loves of my life: sustainability and beer.

I’m writing this entry today because I believe I’ve found that blog.

From greengrog.com:

Space beer: least green beer ever

I’m typically on the lookout for beers that have light carbon footprints, whether it’s because they’re local or because they have awesome practices that cut way down on energy and water use. Today, my buddy Pete has sent me what I believe I can say with some degree of certainty is the beer with the largest carbon footprint in the history of beer.

That’s because it’s brewed with barley grown on the International Space Station (or barley descended of barley grown in space — like grand-space-barley).

Yes, Virginia, there is space beer.
