Dean: We Will Have a Bill with a Public Option on the President’s Desk by December (Video)

Amid the noise from the right wing conservative machine and the mixed messaging from the White House, Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean (Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform: How We Can Achieve Affordable Medical Care for Every American and Make Our Jobs Safer) has emerged as the progressives’ leader on the side of real health care reform. His tough, no-nonsense, yet optimistic stance on reform is exactly the kick in the pants Senate Democrats need to wake them up to the fact that without a robust public option, reform will only be incremental and largely cosmetic.

In this video from his Monday night appearance on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Howard Dean comes out swinging for the public option. Governor Dean is confident that we will have a good bill with a public option ready and on the President’s desk by December.

The interview begins at 1:43.
